At our Close To My Heart convention last week, the company offered this special pendant for anyone made a contribution of $30 or more to Operation Smile, while there. This is one of our new Base & Bling pieces, being featured in our Annual Inspirations 2014-15 catalog (which can have any variety of sentiment/picture put in) - but this quote is a special one they made just for this project. I love it!
More than $20,000 was raised from consultant contributions, which will fund 86 surgeries to correct cleft palate deformities for children all over the world. Isn't that fantastic?
In addition to this project, a 5k run was held, with runners and walkers donating $30 to participate. The path was through California Adventure, I believe. Over 300 people took part, and 22 surgeries were funded!
A live art auction at the end of convention brought in more than $11,000 dollars, funding yet another 46 smiles. What a great company I work for. :-)
