Enjoy a couple hours of holiday creativity!

Make 20 Christmas cards at your own pace, moving to each new project as you are ready.

Take the time to visit with your crafting friends, enjoy some home-baked shortbread and spiced cider.

TERRIFIC TIP TUESDAY 6-9-15 "Let Them Write!"

I spent  yesterday morning cardmaking with a good friend.  She and her husband are helping their daughter raise Ethan, their incredibly smart grandson, who happens to be on the autism spectrum.  Ethan is graduating from 6th grade and has been blessed with so many wonderful "helpers" through his elementary school years. My friend wanted to do something special to express their deep appreciation to the teachers, therapists, etc. So she had Ethan copy a wonderful quote, which we then reduced and photocopied onto cardstock for the front of the card. Using Ethan's favorite color of red, we designed the 5 x 7 card to be fun and attractive, but still letting Ethan's beautifully expressed sentiment be showcased.

I greatly apologize for the fuzziness of the photo below - poor execution on my part, but I did want you to see what he wrote for the cards on the inside.

This left plenty of room for Mom, Grandma and Grandpa to write their own notes to the more than dozen recipients.

Let them write!!!! Let your children's own handwriting be a part of expressions of thanks.  Let them pick the words . . . find a quote that fits just right . . . feature their favorite colors . . . .

Heartfelt thanks that are expressed in such a way . . . are so meaningful.
